Research to evaluate practical techniques for restoring flower-rich grasslands, Ceredigion, Mid-Wales.
Phoenix ecology staff have been involved in establishing and monitoring long-term field experiments at both upland and lowland sites to evaluate a range of practical grassland managements (hay-cutting, grazing and liming) for achieving cost-effective and sustainable increases in grassland biodiversity. Findings have highlighted the importance of combining traditional agricultural managements at phased intervals to create different priority habitats.
